Project Overview
After the game jam version of Colossatron Cosmic Crisis was completed, a small team continued development to improve stability, fix issues, and prepare the project for release on Halfbrick+.
This phase of the project focused on bug fixing, stability improvements, and ensuring the gameplay experience met the quality expectations required for a production release.
Because the team was small and the timeline was short, development required clear prioritisation and coordination to make sure the most important issues were addressed before release.
Key Contributions
- Coordinated a small team of three developers during the post–game jam polish phase
- Organised daily development priorities to ensure the most critical issues were resolved
- Fixed gameplay bugs and stability issues
- Improved overall reliability of the game before release
- Helped prepare the game for launch on the Halfbrick+ subscription service
- Ensured the project was delivered on schedule and in a stable state
Team Coordination
Because the team was small, part of my responsibility involved coordinating the work across three developers and ensuring everyone focused on the highest priority issues.
This included planning daily work priorities, assigning tasks, and making sure the team stayed aligned with the release goals for the project.
Clear communication and prioritisation were essential to make sure the game could be polished and stabilised within the limited development time available.
What This Project Demonstrates
- Team leadership: Coordinating a small team to complete a project within a limited timeframe.
- Production polish: Taking a game jam prototype and preparing it for public release.
- Bug fixing and stability work: Identifying and resolving issues affecting gameplay.
- Release delivery: Ensuring the game shipped on time and in a stable state.
